
Etihad Airways is the national carrier of UAE (United Arab Emirates). It is one of the prominent airlines of the world and a major flier in the Middle East, providing services in Europe, Africa, North America and Indian sub continent. Etihad Airways (EY) was established in the year 2003.
It’s based in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of UAE. With its services and flights increasing every passing year, the Etihad Airways flies passenger airplanes as well as cargo. Etihad Airways cargo division is known as Etihad Crystal Cargo and offers services to several international destinations with 2 Airbus A300 – 600F cargo airplanes.
Fleet
Etihad Airways holds pride in its intensive fleet of 52 advanced aircrafts. Its fleet includes 2 Airbus A319 – 100, 15 Airbus A330 – 200, 8 Airbus A320 – 200, 5 Airbus A340, 4 Airbus A340 – 500, 5 Boeing 777 – 300 ER, A340 – 300, 2 Airbus A300 – 600RF and 1 McDonnell Douglas MD – 11F. Alongside, the airlines also did a record-breaking order in July of 2008 with its 205 airplanes at the Farnborough International Airshow, comprising of firm orders for hundred aircrafts.
Plus, the airlines have ordered for 469 engines at the Paris Air Show, which includes firm orders for 239 engines in May 2009. The airlines fleet is one of the youngest as well as the most environment friendly airplane fleet, with an average age of just 3 years.
