History of Thai Airways

Thai Airways took birth in year 1960 with a joint venture of two domestic carriers’ of Thailand, which are Thai Airways Company (TAC) and Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS). Thai Airways merged with its international division in year 1988 thus giving birth to the present Thai Airways International. Thai Airways accompanied with Air Canada, Lufthansa, Unite Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines System in 1997, formed the world’s first and largest airlines partnership called as ‘Star Alliance’ which has an extensive network.
